Yuletide Myconids are an invasive species. Originating somewhere in the Bavarian Alps, it is said that these creatures were brought over on ships sometime in the early 19th Century during the winter trade season. They have been known to develop on pine trees, only to then sneak into homes when said tree is harvested for holiday decor.
Yuletide Myconids are mischievous creatures, living fungal colonies disguised in human form via their wooden mask and poorly sewn cloak. It is said that once one of these creatures is seen they will offer a piece of their growth as a festive offering. But be careful, the fungus is known to show you quite more than the true meaning of the holiday season.
For example, in a lost text found of “A Christmas Carol” it was written that Ebenezer Scrooge recalled a small creature scampering away from his plate before he was visited by the ghosts of Christmas. So be sure to check those trees while you’re decorating, for you might find something ancient hiding among the pines.
